'Now, why did I choose to call this book 'Imperfect Leadership'? It's a strange title. I chose to call it that because I think imperfect leadership is the best way to describe my own leadership and that's not something I'm embarrassed about or ashamed of. In fact, I'm proud to be an imperfect leader because I have a problem with this idea of perfect leadership'. Dr Steve Munby
AISNT provides support, advice and networking opportunities for school leaders.
AISNT has had a long standing relationship with Dr Stephen Brown, founder and director of the Brown Collective.
AISNT fosters the skills of school leaders through partnerships with Dr Stephen Brown (The Brown Collective) and Dr George Otero (RelationaLearning). Opportunities are provided for professional learning within the Northern Territory, as well as international study tours – such as the benchmarking tour to Hong Kong in 2016 and the study trip to New Mexico in 2017.
AISNT advocates for the work of the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership and strongly recommends its leadership resources.
In 2025 AISNT will facilitate a leadership development program, in Alice Springs and Darwin, for staff in middle leadership positions, aspiring leaders and teachers working towards HALT accreditation.
The Leadership Collective program will provide current and emerging leaders within schools the opportunity to learn as a collective, building their expertise and knowledge through a school-based change management project that adds to the strategic direction of their school.
Immersing themselves in the transformative process of inquiry, learning centred on collective meaning making, participants will reflect on their practices and the practices of the school. They will utilise the strengths of others within the group to assist them in challenging their current thinking and managing change within the sphere of influence.
Over the seven days of the program, participants will design a project, negotiated at the school level, which adds value to their school, developing their skills as leaders and practitioners. The program will culminate in presentations of the projects, celebrating the knowledge gained and the changes made within the school.
